Comfortable in the middle

The old adage Strike while the iron is hot is alive and well.  The 2020 election has provided prime opportunities for fundraising, and especially by those who understand people on the right.  Here are some of the players who are opportunistically profiting from the ongoing 2020 election drama. The Republican National Convention - they get a cut from every donation made to the new Save America PAC, set up shortly after the election, under the guise of fundraising for the legal costs of President Trump’s election litigation. President Trump - the fine print language of the Save America PAC indicates he will profit significantly from every donation made. Sidney Powell - How many people knew who Sidney Powell was prior to the memorable press conference she and Rudy Giuliani held on November 19th? It makes perfectly good sense for President Trump to NOT concede the election.  How would it profit him to do so?  It is clear to see that in order for President Trump to maximize profits, the best course of action is to continue to contest the election.  This is the correct course of action for him to take.  I’m not saying this is the best course of action for the country, but it is the best course of action for President Trump. I’m sure everyone can agree that President Trump's number one priority is himself.  This is abundantly clear from his many words and deeds over the past several years.  This is not to say he doesn’t hold other priorities, some of which may serve to benefit the country.  His top priorities are his image, his ego, and his wealth.  Within this context, how does it make sense for him to concede the election?  It doesn’t. I have a confession to make:  I have not been very gentle this year.  I’ve struggled with gentle reactions to things that have transpired that I simply cannot believe.  I’ve tried - I’ve actually kept myself from responding to a number of things I’ve found simply outrageous.  And at other times, I’ve found myself unable to stay silent.  Generally, I’m a calm, composed, and quiet person, and take time to process my thoughts prior to careful and measured statements.  Reflecting back on this year, there are a number of times I aired my thoughts quite sarcastically, bordering on mockery, despite careful thought on the matters at hand.
