Comfortable in the middle

This is the 8th post in the God’s False(?) I ran across this quote yesterday, from an interview with pastor and televangelist John Hagee in November 2020, after he recovered from a very serious bout with COVID-19, which resulted in 15 days of hospitalization. "We have a vaccine; the name is Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. Let Him sweep through this country and heal the righteous who dare to ask for it. Heal our church members. Restore them rapidly. Let the name of Jesus Christ be exalted because He is Lord over all."  Here’s a link to a video of the church service where he made this statement , if you’re interested.  This quote has left me with a number of questions, as I consider the implications of Pastor Hagee’s declaration.  I don’t ask these questions with intent to mock, but I do feel influential church leaders need to reflect carefully on their words, knowing that many people are listening and looking for guidance.  I’m not suggesting any believer put more weight on the words of a pastor than...

Today, I discovered a Christian information source supporting COVID-19 vaccination which actually surprised me.  What I came across was a long and detailed article supporting vaccination, and refuting Christian arguments against vaccination, by a well-known, and longstanding Young Earth Creationist, Dr.Jonathan Sarfati , published on the website of one of the world’s leading Young Earth Creationism advocacy organizations, Creation Ministries International .  Dr. Sarfati covers a lot of territory in the article , originally published in 2018, and updated to include information on the COVID vaccine.  It's a good read for any Christian, regardless of your current position on vaccines.  Creation Ministries International is the parent organization of Answers in Genesis , run by Ken Ham , based in northern Kentucky.
